How, where, and why this brush jig works

Twig is the Coda brush/wood jig — made to go into laydowns, brush piles, dock stalls, and vertical wood without the skirt getting hammered flat. Still the Coda signature: wire-tied skirt + Worth premium hook, so it fishes clean and lasts longer than a banded jig in wood.

1. Laydowns & shoreline wood (3/8 oz)

When: You’re flipping at targets in 3–6 ft — classic bank wood, small brush off points, corners of docks.

How: Short pitch, let it fall on semi-slack, let the skirt bloom, hop it once, then shake in place.

2. Brush piles & man-made cover (1/2 oz)

When: You’re fishing brush in 8–14 ft, or you need a little more weight to punch through vertical limbs.

How: Drop it in, let it hit a limb, lift and “walk” it down the branches. Pause it on the bottom and let that wire-tied skirt sit full.

3. Docks, walkways, marina posts

When: Fish are tight to shade and don’t want a moving bait.

4. Mixed rock-and-wood banks

Line: 15–17 lb fluoro, or 40–50 lb braid around heavy wood.

5. Guard & skirt mods
  • Thin the guard if you’re mostly in brush, not in hardwood laydowns.
  • Square the skirt to make it more “craw” than “flipping jig.”
  • Add rattles — wire tie makes it easy to add without losing skirt integrity.
Colors & Conditions — wood & bank logic

Because Twig lives in wood, sell the natural craw / green pumpkin / brown story first — then go to black/blue for dirty water and brim/gill when you’re around docks.
