Best ways to fish it (demo)

Swim Jig Trailer Shallow grass, slow roll
Texas Rig Pitching to cover
Ball Jig Head Dragging sand or rock
Split Shot Natural subtle glides
Buzz Bait (Toad-Style Hook)

When/Where: Grass mats, pads, shallow flats, and low-light windows when fish are looking up.

How: Rig on a double frog/toad hook and start reeling the second it hits the water. Keep it buzzing over the top of cover.

Why: The 3.5" body throws water and stays on plane quickly, giving fish a loud, moving target.

Tuning: If it rolls, re-rig straight and make sure the hook exits perfectly centered.

Weighted Swimbait Hook

When/Where: Sparse grass lanes and open pockets where you want a slower topwater-to-subsurface transition.

How: Retrieve steadily across the surface, then let it fall into holes and restart.

Why: Adds depth control while keeping the weedless profile.

Tuning: Lighter weights keep it higher in the column; heavier weights let it drop into pockets faster.

Weightless Rig

When/Where: Calm mornings, edges of pads, and over submerged vegetation.

How: Slow, steady retrieve just fast enough to keep the legs churning on top.

Why: The natural kick creates surface commotion without hardware noise.

Tuning: Rod tip high keeps it buzzing; rod tip down allows a slight subsurface wake.
