Best ways to fish it (demo)

Swim Jig Trailer Shallow grass, slow roll
Texas Rig Pitching to cover
Ball Jig Head Dragging sand or rock
Split Shot Natural subtle glides
Standard (Ball) Jig Head

When/Where: The classic grub deal—panfish, walleye, and bass around weeds, rocks, docks, and current seams.

How: Thread straight and let the curl tail do the work. Swim slow, or lift-drop and let it pendulum back on semi-slack.

Why: The chubby body pushes water and the tail thumps at low speed—simple, reliable, and easy to repeat.

Tuning: If bites are light, slow down first before changing weight.

Ned Rig

When/Where: Pressured fish, calm conditions, and rocky flats where subtle bottom contact shines.

How: Thread onto a Ned head and drag with short shakes and frequent pauses.

Why: The curl tail adds movement without needing speed—great when fish want “alive” but not aggressive.

Tuning: If you’re snagging, lighten the head and shorten your drags.

Drop Shot

When/Where: Cold fronts or suspended/neutral fish that won’t chase.

How: Nose-hook or lightly thread; shake slack so the tail flutters in place.

Why: Continuous tail action without pulling it out of the strike window.

Tuning: Too much movement? Calm the shake and lengthen pauses.

Tip: this bait catches fish when you do less—if the tail is just ticking, you’re usually in the zone.
