Bad Boy Custom Lures 110 + Style "Ghost Pattern" Semi-Transparent Custom Painted Rattle Jerk Bait
Bad Boy Custom LuresBad Boy Custom Lures 110-Style — Hand-Painted Rattle Jerkbait (Suspending)
Jonathan hand-paints each bait to order.
Fish it on 10–12 lb fluorocarbon or FINS 10–15 lb braid to a 10–12 lb fluoro leader for sharp cuts, long casts, and a clean suspend.
Built to run roughly 3–6 ft with a sharp cut and a true suspend or slow rise depending on water temp and leader size. The pause is the bite window. How: Twitch–twitch–pause. Start with 2–3 twitches and a 2–5 second pause. In colder water, lengthen the pause; in warming trend, shorten it. Line: FINS 10–15 lb braid to a 10–12 lb fluoro leader or straight 10–12 lb fluoro. On braid-to-leader, keep the rod at 8–9 o’clock so you’re cutting with slack, not dragging with the tip. Where: Secondary points, bluff ends, outside grass lines, and dock fronts — anywhere fish suspend off structure. When: Wind blowing into a rocky bank, shad present, you’re tempted to throw a crank but want more hang time. How: Long cast, burn 6–8 handle turns to depth, then mix 2–4 hard slashes with 1–3 second pauses. Let the rattle chambers and the wind both work for you. Tick the top of the grass at 4–6 ft, then stop and let it hang just above the weeds. If you’re constantly fouling, shorten your pause and raise your rod tip so it runs a touch higher.1. Classic cadence (roughly 40–60°F)
2. Windy banks & riprap
3. Over grass (late spring & fall)
4. Suspend tuning
Jonathan paints these to order, so the pattern you pick is the pattern he paints. No guessing what “batch” you’re going to get — you’re ordering the look that’s on the screen. Lean into ghost shad, smelt, and translucent bluegill patterns. Let the long pause and subtle flash sell the bait more than the paint noise. Opaque shad, chartreuse sides, darker gill backs. The internal rattles plus wind chop plus higher contrast make it easy for fish to track. Metallics, purples, and high-contrast sides. Work it cross-current with shorter pauses — current will create the cut and sweep the bait through the strike zone. Same color, longer pause. If they’re still nipping, switch to the same general pattern with a darker back so they have a clear target to pin.Clear water / sun

Care & Storage
Rinse and dry after dirty or brackish days. Store in a hard-bait tray so the hooks don’t beat up the clearcoat and eyes.
Plastics Recycling
Don't toss torn baits — recycle or dispose properly. Learn more: https://qwikfishing.com/recycling/
Availability: Painted to order. Most orders ship within a few business days once Jonathan finishes your bait; larger batches may take a bit longer depending on his paint queue.
We fish these the same way you will: windy banks, cold fronts, and those bluebird days where the only time they’ll eat is when you’re almost bored on the pause. You’re not buying a warehouse ghost. You’re buying an actual paint job Jonathan can repeat, with a crisp cut and suspend you can tune. If you find “your” color, you can have him repaint it again — not cross your fingers for a similar batch. Upper Midwest / “up north” lakes: Clear water and roaming fish on points, breaks, and weed edges. Think Leech, Walker, Clear, and similar natural lakes. Ozarks & Tenn-style impoundments: Wind on main-lake points, channel swings, and bluff ends with shad in the mix. Rivers / smallmouth: Current seams, eddies, and bluff walls. High-contrast colors, shorter pauses, and let the current do the work. Why pick this over a standard factory 110?
