DHUKR® Tool — Fishhook removal for humans, done the clean way

Compact, ergonomic, and designed specifically for human skin—so when a hook finds you instead of a fish, you’ve got a repeatable process that doesn’t rely on “buddy help” or improvised tricks.

Works solo (ambidextrous grip) Controlled barb release Size 1 to 9/0 hooks US Patent #11272698

Why it costs more than “just pliers”: this tool is purpose-built and tested for human hook removal—designed in the U.S., refined through real-world ER experience, and protected by patent. You’re paying for predictable control when the situation is unpredictable.

  • R&D + iterative testing: geometry tuned to stabilize the hook and aid barb release.
  • ER-informed design: created by an emergency-room clinician focused on safe outcomes.
  • Patented system: a proven method—not a guess-and-yank moment.
  • Built to carry: compact enough to live in a first-aid kit so it’s there when you need it.
  • U.S. small business: U.S.-designed and patented; manufactured overseas.

“How it works” at a glance

Use the DHUKR tool hook to lock onto the hook throat, seat the head over the shank, then pull straight back.

Why this design works

Thumbpad + index trigger give controlled leverage, and the small offset helps barb release with less force— which matters when you’re on a rocking deck or your hand’s already compromised.

Carry it like you carry pliers

Lanyard hole for secure carry; toss it in the tackle tray, backpack, kayak crate, or first-aid kit so it’s there when you need it.

Alignment — seat the head over the shank and lock the tool hook around the hook throat.

The 3-second process (repeatable, not “wing it”)

The core idea is stability + alignment: lock onto the hook throat, seat onto the shank, tilt to disengage the barb, then pull straight back.

Lock onto the throat (curvature)

Place the small hook on the DHUKR around the throat of the embedded hook to stabilize it.

Seat the head over the shank

Position the split head over the hook shank for controlled, straight-line extraction.

Tilt down slightly → barb release

Use the head to disengage the barb (less tearing, less drama), then…

Pull straight back

One clean pull to remove the hook.

Compact carry, real leverage

8.5" length gives you the leverage you want without taking over your tackle storage—built to live in your tackle box, boat bag, kayak crate, or first-aid kit.
